Farah Law attorneys Milad Farah and Geoffrey Borschow obtained a $508,333.33 result for their client following a jury trial in Las Cruces, New Mexico yesterday.
The case involved a municipal bus striking a bicyclist in a marked crosswalk, and the responding officer cited the bus driver for failure to yield. The jury ultimately apportioned 65% fault to the defendant and 35% to the plaintiff.
The case presented several challenges related to causation, medical treatment and comparative fault, but Milad and Geoffrey were able to establish their case through the bus video, mechanism of injury, treatment history, diagnostic findings and supporting medical testimony.
The defense also focused heavily on personal struggles the client experienced following the collision. Milad and Geoffrey kept the focus on the evidence, the driver’s responsibility to yield and their client’s right to be treated with dignity and have his case decided on the facts.
Ultimately, the jury returned a substantial trial verdict in our client’s favor.
