Wharton County, TX (November 29, 2020) – A vehicle accident reported on Sunday morning claimed the lives of several victims, including a young child. Just before 4 a.m., on November 29, the Wharton Police Department responded to the scene of an accident on US Highway 59.
Reports from local news sources show that a black Cadillac SUV was traveling south on US Highway 59 when it collided head-on with a Nissan Altima. The crash caused severe damage to both vehicles involved.
Three adults and a 2.5-year-old child in the Nissan were pronounced deceased at the scene. A 6-month-old baby in the sedan was airlifted from the scene to a local hospital for the treatment of critical injuries.
The driver of the SUV was also fatally injured in the accident and pronounced deceased at the scene. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
