Houston, TX (October 13, 2020) – An accident reported in the Houston area sent two people to local hospitals with injuries early Saturday morning. At approximately 2:30 a.m., on October 10, the Houston Police Department responded to the scene of an accident on South Shepard Drive.
Reports provided by the police show that a crash involving multiple vehicles took place on South Shepherd Drive. After the collision, one vehicle, a BMW i8, went off the roadway at the intersection with San Felipe Street. The vehicle became wedged between two light poles, pinning two occupants inside. Both victims were extricated by firefighters and transported to an area trauma center for treatment. The BMW was completely totaled and towed away from the scene.
A second vehicle, a black sedan, sustained severe front-end damage. The vehicle was towed from the scene. However, no injuries to the driver were reported. A third vehicle was also involved in the accident. However, no injuries were reported for anyone inside the vehicle.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation by the Houston Police Department.
