Houston, TX (April 2, 2021) - Police in Houston are currently searching for a driver who fled the scene of a fatal pedestrian-involved traffic accident on the morning of Wednesday, March 31 in Harris County. The wreck occurred at approximately 5:40 a.m., according to reports.
Officials in Houston state that the incident took place on East Mount Houston Road at the intersection with the Eastex Freeway. The victim was attempting to cross East Mount Houston when they were struck by a black Honda Civic. The Civic then left the scene without stopping to render aid or wait for the police.
The pedestrian was transported from the crash site to an area hospital where they later lost their life. Their identity has not been released at this time.
The feeder road of the Eastex Freeway was closed southbound while responders investigated at the scene of the accident. Traffic delays were observed as a result in the area for some time.
