Fatal Pedestrian Accidents in Texas
Pedestrian accidents claim the lives of more than 600 people across the state of Texas annually. This total amount accounts for roughly 17% of total traffic-related deaths in our state each year. Although we like to think that the laws and regulations in place to protect pedestrians are effective 100% of the time, this is far from true. In fact, many victims lose their lives as a result of reckless and negligent drivers sharing the road. When drivers speed, operate their vehicles while impaired, and engage in distracted driving, they are likely to cause fatal accidents.
When pedestrians lose their lives in accidents, they often leave behind friends and family members who are devastated by their sudden and unexpected loss. Although there are very few things worse than the loss of a loved one, knowing that they lost their life as a result of another person’s negligence makes the situation even more emotional. Although money cannot replace the lives of those taken away so suddenly, having the financial resources necessary to move forward after a loss can help alleviate some of the stress families endure. Working with a responsive and effective wrongful death attorney in Houston can help to ensure you are in the best position possible after experiencing the tragic loss of a loved one.
