Austin, TX - Police Officer Injured in Crash Near Creek Bend Dr

Austin, TX (June 14, 2021) - An on-duty police officer from the city of Austin was injured during a car accident in the southeast part of the city on Sunday, July 13th.

Officials stated that at about 12:00 a.m. a crash took place between an on-duty officer in a squad car and a pick-up truck. The two vehicles collided with one another on South Pleasant Valley Road in the area of Creek Bend Drive.

Both drivers sustained non-critical injuries during the impact.

Investigators said it appeared as though the truck ran into a trash can near a Capital Metro stop, as well as a nearby fence. The truck was badly damaged on its back end and the APD patrol car sustained damage to its front end.
