Motorcycle Accidents in Texas
Each year, tens of thousands of people are hospitalized with injuries from motor vehicle accidents throughout the state of Texas. Many incidents involve motorcyclists. Although these vehicles account for a very small portion of vehicles on roadways across our state, they are involved in a substantial number of collisions. Victims involved in these accidents are more likely to sustain critical and life-threatening injuries due to the fact that they usually only have helmets to protect them. A lot of victims sustain injuries like traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord damage, and broken bones that demand extensive medical attention. Regrettably, not everyone is able to overcome their injuries.
In fact, more than 500 victims are killed in motorcycle accidents throughout our state each year. Although most people believe that motorcyclists are always responsible for accidents, the majority are caused by the negligence of other motorists sharing the roads. The unfortunate truth is that no matter how vigilant we are in ensuring the safety of others sharing the road, there is no guarantee that all motorists will pay the same respect to us. As a result, we continue to see people harmed or killed in accidents caused by negligent, reckless, and distracted drivers.
