Houston, TX (March 20, 2021) - At around 9:45 p.m. on March 17, a fatal pedestrian-involved traffic crash took place in the 5400 block of Harrisburg Boulevard in Houston. According to reports, the incident involved an adult male pedestrian who was fatally hit by a car.
The pedestrian’s name has not been released at this time. Officials indicate that the crash happened on Harrisburg Boulevard near Delmar Street. What led up to the collision is currently under investigation by local authorities.
Vehicular Crimes detectives, police officers in Houston’s east side, and paramedics were dispatched to the scene in order to render aid to those involved. Upon their arrival, they found that one person had lost their life after being hit by a car on Harrisburg Boulevard near the Taqueria Los Mexicanos restaurant.
Local drivers were asked to avoid the intersection of Delmar Street and Harrisburg Boulevard while officials worked at the scene of the accident. Delays in traffic were observed in the area for some time after approximately 10:00 p.m. on the evening of March 17.
Authorities continue to investigate the details of the wreck.
