Houston, TX (March 13, 2021) - A fatal pedestrian crash took the life of one individual in the early morning hours of March 13 in Houston. At approximately 12:40 a.m., paramedics and police were dispatched to the scene of the crash that occurred on the Gulf Freeway.
Reports state that the collision happened on the Gulf Freeway near Woodridge in southeast Houston. Police believe that a man may have been trying to cross the road when he was fatally struck by a passing vehicle.
The driver of the car that hit the man stopped and waited for authorities to arrive. Paramedics attempted life-saving efforts but the pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the crash scene.
The freeway was closed in the vicinity of Woodridge for a period of time after the crash took place. Drivers were asked to seek alternate routes while responders worked to clear the roadway.
Police in Houston continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
