Pedestrian Accidents in Houston
Every year, more than 7,500 pedestrians are injured in collisions throughout our state. The fact that pedestrians do not have steel cages to protect them leaves them more vulnerable to life-threatening and fatal injuries. The majority of victims sustain injuries that force them to undergo emergency surgery and spend months in recovery. Although we would hope that every victim is able to overcome their injuries and move forward, this is not the case. In fact, motor vehicle accidents claim the lives of more than 3,600 people each year. Roughly 17% of victims who lose their lives in these accidents are pedestrians.
When pedestrians lose their lives in accidents, they often leave behind friends and family members who are devastated by their sudden and unexpected loss. Although there are very few things worse than the loss of a loved one, knowing that they lost their life as a result of another person’s negligence makes the situation even more emotional.
