Los Fresnos, TX (May 30, 2021) - A fatal accident that occurred early on the morning of Monday, May 24, took the lives of two men after their vehicle hit a tree. According to reports, the incident occurred on FM 510 just east of Share 28 Road in Los Fresnos.
The incident took place around 6:45 a.m. when the driver of a white 2007 Toyota Tundra was headed east on FM 510. For reasons unknown, the vehicle went out of control and veered into the northbound lanes of traffic and off of the roadway where it struck a tree.
The Toyota then became engulfed in flames, according to a news release. The victims were identified as Eric Gonzalez, 31, and Roberto Quezada, 24, according to police. Area authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the collision.
The portion of FM 410 where the crash occurred was blocked off to local motorists while crews were at the scene. Traffic delays ensued in the area for some time on the morning of May 24.
