San Antonio, TX (September 26, 2021) - One woman died and several others were injured during a chain-reaction accident near downtown San Antonio on Saturday, September 25th.
The San Antonio Police Department and the San Antonio Fire Department responded to reports of a five-car collision in the northbound lanes of Interstate 37 at the Florida Street exit at about 9:00 p.m.
Police said that backed-up traffic caused by a concert at the Alamodome caused the initial accident. A pick-up truck swerved in an attempt to avoid the crash but instead caused a five-car pile-up.
As a result of the collision, two people were transported by ambulance to an area hospital in unknown condition and a woman that police believe to be in her 20s died at the scene.
